IQ motif

Introduction

A basic unit of about 23 amino acids. It serves as a binding site for different EF-hand proteins including the essential & regulatory myosin light chains, calmodulin (CaM), & CaM-like proteins. Many IQ motis are protein kinase C phosphorylation sites.
