Etiology
Clinical manifestations
- painful swelling of the palms of the hands & the soles of the feet
- paresthesias
- skin ulcers or blisters may form on the palms & soles, especially if these areas are under pressure
- peeling of the skin may occur
- symptoms are often more severe in the hands than the feet
- loss of fingerprints has been reported[3]

Management
- hand & foot hygiene
- analgesia
- symptoms generally resolve within 2-4 weeks with discontinuation of chemotherapy
- frozen gloves & socks for 90 minutes after undergoing treatment with paclitaxel may help control symptoms of neuropathy[5]
