Etiology
- chronic severe aortic regurgitation
Pathology
- wide pulse pressure with large systolic stroke volume & rapid fall in arterial pressure
Clinical manifestations
- a rapid forceful carotid upstroke with marked collapse
- right carotid artery visibly pulsatile with the patient sitting
- dyspnea
