Introduction

Design:

Fluid resuscitation with normal saline or 4% albumin

Results:

  • all cause mortality same in both groups at 21 days
  • a trend toward improved outcome with 4% albumin observed in septic patients
  • a trend toward improved outcome with normal saline observed in head trauma patients
