Indications
Contraindications
- severe cardiovascular disease
- severe coagulation disorder
- thrombocytopenia or thrombocytosis
- pregnancy
Procedure
- office based procedure
- local anesthetic (lidocaine)
- PO or IM anxiolytics, sedatives, narcotics not associated with respiratory depression may be used
Complications
- fat removed during liposuction returns within 1 year, but to different location(s)[1]
- surgical site infection
- invasive group A Streptococcus involving 13 medical spa clients, resuling in 1 death (2014)[2]
