Methods

29-item questionnaire completed by the patient's caregiver

Includes descriptions of 29 agitated behaviors.

Each is rated on a 7-point scale of frequency

  • 0 = never, 6 = 2 or more times/hour,
  • 7 = not applicable

Inter-rater agreement is 0.88-0.92.

A short form contains 14 items.

  • spitting
  • verbally bossy
  • verbal sexual advances
  • physical sexual advances
  • fidgety

  • inappropraite handling
  • grabbing/snatching
  • hoarding
  • hiding
  • stange movements
  • temper outburst
  • hitting
  • kicking
  • throwing
  • tearing/ destroying
  • grab/clinging
  • pushing
  • biting
  • scratching
  • hurting himself
  • hurting others
  • intentional falls
  • eat/drink nonfood substances

Behaviors occured most often:

  • morning
  • afternoon
