Introduction
Increased risk:
- primary sclerosing cholangitis
- extent & duration of ulcerative colitis
- family history of colorectal cancer
- endoscopically abnormal colon
- pseudoployps, scarring
Reduced risk:
- anti-inflammatory agents, particulary 5-amino salicylates
- smoking
- ursodeoxycholic acid in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis
No effect on risk:
- immunomodulatory agents
