Indications

• treatment of classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia in adults 7 children >=4 years

Dosage

• 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg capsules
• oral solution 50 mg/mL

Adverse effects

• fatigue, headache, dizziness, joint pain, back pain, decreased appetite, myalgia, & nasal congestion

Mechanism of action

• corticotropin-releasing factor type 1 receptor antagonist
• reduces pituitary secretion of ACTH
• reduces excess androgen production
• potentially lowers glucocorticoid requirements.
