Indications
- evaluation of rapidly progressive dementia for treatable causes
Procedure
- 1 point each for
- seizures
- disease associated tumor
- age < 50 years at onset
- brain MRI suggestive of autoimmune encephalitis
- mania
- movement disorder
- CSF pleocytosis (>= 10 cells/uL)
Interpretation
- score of 1 at presentation captures 95% of potentially treatment-responsive cases
- all patients with score of >= 3 have potentially treatment-responsive case (sensitivity 26%, specificity 100%)
