Contraindications

of no benefit for sepsis
no benefits for elderly at risk for low cardiac output syndrome following cardiac bypass surgery^[3] or cardiac surgery in general^[4]

* may diminish likelihood of successful weaning from ventilator

inotrope & calcium-sensitizing drug
appears to increase myofilament calcium sensitivity by binding to cardiac troponin C (Ca+2-dependent)^[2]
