Adverse effects
- contains high levels of arsenic, As(V) present in 100-fold amounts greater than white rice (China)[2]
- rice bran contains total & inorganic arsenic ~7 & 9 times higher, respectively, than found in polished rice (Thailand)[3]

- byproduct of milling rice
- contains 12%-13% oil
- contains highly unsaponifiable components (4.3%) consisting of tocotrienols, gamma-oryzanol & beta-sitosterol with favorable effects on lipid profiles
- containsdietary fibres (beta-glucan, pectin and gum)
- contains ferulic acid
- contains high levels of arsenic
