- Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome
- X-linked ichthyosis
- contiguous gene syndrome (placental sulfatase deficiency)
- aromatase deficiency
- fetal adrenal insufficiency
- various forms of congenital adrenal hyperplasia
Increases
- hydrops fetalis in the presence of a dying fetus

- anencephalic fetus
