- an infant at risk for SIDS
- an infant with apnea &/or bradycardia
- assessment of pharmcotheraoy benefit, caffeine or theophylline
- in conjunction with a pH probe study to diagnose gastroesophageal reflux
- to determine the need for home monitoring
