Indications
- refractory angina pectoris
- patient not eligible for coronary artery revascularization
Procedure
- delivered through a venous catheter to the coronary sinus, where it is expanded with a balloon
Mechanism of action
- blocks flow through most of the coronary sinus except for a small central orifice
- increases coronary sinus pressure & perfusion pressure in ischemic myocardium
