- high caffeine intake combined with MAO inhibitor therapy can lead to severe hypertension[1]*
* case report of patient drinking 10-12 cups of coffee/day while taking tranylcypromine[1] with BP of 220/120 mm Hg; BP returned to normal when he switched to decaf.
