Notes
blood group antigens & antibodies[3]
- type A blood contains blood group A antigen & anti-B Ab
- type B blood contains blood group B antigen & anti-A Ab
- type AB blood contains blood group A antigen & blood group B antigen & no anti-ABO Ab
- type O contains no ABO blood group antigens & both anti-A & anti-B antibodies
- type A may receive type A or type O RBC
- type B may receive type B or type O RBC
- type AB may receive type A, type B, type AB or type O RBC
- type O may receive type 0 RBC
- type A may receive fresh frozen plasma from type A or type AB donor
- type B may receive fresh frozen plasma from type B or type AB donor
- type AB may receive fresh frozen plasma from type AB donor only
- type O may receive fresh frozen plasma from any donor
