A general term used in reference to pathological events of cardiovascular nature, i.e.
Epidemiology
- burden of cardiovascular-risk-factors is lowest in low-income countries
- highest incidence of major cardiovascular events is also in low-income countries*[1]
* editorialist speculates that improved healthcare delivery & access to high-quality care in low- and middle-income countries may account for this paradox[1]
