Epidemiology
- adolescents, young adults
Clinical manifestations
- single or multiple sharply demarcated, hyperpigmented, nonindurated patches
- usually on the back
- lesions may be discrete or confluent
- patches are marked by a slight depression of the skin, with an abrupt edge
- consistency & feel of the affected skin remains normal[2]

Laboratory
- none specific
- for exclusion
Management
- no treatment is consistently effective
- some patients respond to topical corticosteroids, antibiotics, or antimalarials[2]
