- cephalic presentation
- appropriate fetal size for gestational age
Complications
- women contemplating home childbirth are at elevated risk
- 16% require hospital transfer after labor initiation
- perinatal deaths 3.9 vs 1.8 deaths per 1000 deliveries for planned home childbirth vs planned hospital delivery[3]
- catastrophic pregnancy outcomes are rare[3]
