Introduction
In vitro test that measures the amount of histamine released from leukocytes after exposure to antigen.
Clinical significance
Procedure
- an allergen extract (varyible concentrations) is added to peripheral blood leukocytes
- histamine is normally released in response to interaction of allergen with cell surface IgE antibodies
