Indications
- assessement of acute myocardial infarction (MI) measured within 24 hours of acute MI
- assessment of myocardial perfusion during coronary bypass surgery
Clinical significance
- predicts poor cardiac outcome at 1 year after MI
- reveals myocardial perfusion defect during coronary bypass surgery[2]
- helpful in establishing diagnosis in the early stages of ischemia, before necrosis develops[2]
Procedure
Notes
- never widely used and is no longer available for clinical use in the U.S.[3]
