chlorpheniramine/phenylephrine/pyrilamine (Triotann)

Indications

• symptomatic relief of sinusitis, nasal congestion & rhinorrhea associatedwith upper respiratory tract infections
  • symptomatic relief from influenza
• symptomatic relief from symptoms of allergies
  • allergic conjunctivitis, allergic rhinitis, sneezing, atopy

Contraindications

• newborns
• nursing mothers

Dosage

• children > 6 years: 5-10 mL every 12 hours
• children 2-6 years: 2.5-5 mL every 12 hours

Liquid:

• chlorpheniramine tartrate 2 mg, pyrilamine tannate 12.5 mg
• phenylephrine tannate 5 mL/5 mL

Adverse effects

• not common (1-10%)
  • drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, hyperexcitability, dryness of mucous membranes
