Introduction

Criteria:

  • Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat even though underweight
  • Disturbance in self-evaluation of body image or denial of the seriousness of the current body weight

Restricting type: No binge-eating or purging behavior*

Binge-eating/purging type: binge-eating or purging behavior*

* self-induced vomiting or abuse of laxatives, diuretics or enemas
