Introduction
- Refusal to maintain body weight or meet expected weight gain during a period of growth at or above 85% ideal body weight
- Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat even though underweight
- Disturbance in self-evaluation of body image or denial of the seriousness of the current body weight
- Amenorrhea in women of child-bearing age
Restricting type: No binge-eating or purging behavior*
Binge-eating/purging type: binge-eating or purging behavior*
* self-induced vomiting or abuse of laxatives, diuretics or enemas
