Indications
- obscure GI bleed localized to the distal duodenum or proximal jejunum with capsule endoscopy[1]
Procedure
- push enteroscopy
- uses a long endoscope designed to be passed into the jejunum
- working channel of the endoscope allows for biopsy of lesions & cauterization of bleeding sites
- endoscope can be advanced 150 cm past the gastric pylorus, depending upon anatomy of patient & operator skill[1]
