Introduction
Scarring, burning or cutting tissue by means of heat, cold, electric current, ultrasound or caustic chemicals.
Often used in reference to control of hemorrhage from bleeding vessels during surgery.
Notes
- transmission of SARS-CoV2 from plume (aerosol) of electrocautery during surgery does notoccur because the plume contains no virus[2]
