Muscle of dorsum of foot, somes considered as the medial belly of the extensor digitorum brevis.

Origin

dorsal surface of the calcaneus

Insertion

• base of the proximal phalanx of the 1st (great) toe

Action

• extends 1st (great) toe

Innervation

deep fibular nerve
