Introduction

The post-synaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction. Typically, several terminal branches of a motor axon synapse on troughlike depressions in the sarcolemma of the innervated skeletal muscle. Nicotinic receptors bind acetylcholine released by the presynaptic terminals of the motor neurons depolarizing the innervated muscle.
