Introduction
Dorsal surface of the sacrum marked by five prominent ridges:
- median (central)
- fused rudimentary spinous processes of the superior 3 or 4 sacral vertebra.
- medial (intermediate)
- lateral
- represent the tips of the transverse processes of the fused sacral vertebra Clinical feature: Inverted U - shaped sacral hiatus & sacral cornua.
