Function
- the posterior spinocerebellar tract conveys largely proprioceptive information orginating from the annulospiral nerve endings surrounding muscle spindles & from Golgi tendon organs
Origin
- a compact bundle of heavily myelinated, thick fibers originating in the ipsilateral thoracic Clarke's column
Course
- the CNS white matter tract ascends in the lateral funiculus & reaches the cerebellum by way of the inferior cerebellar peduncle
- the tract terminates as mossy fibers in the granular layer of the of the cortex of the cerebellar vermis & via collaterals, the cerebellar nuclei.
