Introduction
Nerve root: dorsal roots of L2-L4
Origin
Afferents
- seonsory: anterior femoral cutaneous branches to the skin of the anterior & medial region of the thigh
Efferents
Course
- the femoral nerve arises from L2-L4, emerges from the lateral border of the psoas muscle & innervates the iliacus muscle &the extensor muscles of the knee
Pathology
Injury:
- weakness in hip flexion & knee extension
- hyporeflexia at knee
