Anterior thigh muscles.

Origin

(by 4 heads)

• rectus femoris
• vastus lateralis
• vastus intermedius
• vastus medialis

Insertion

• patella & by the patellar ligament to the tibial tuberosity

Action

extends leg & flexes thigh (rectus femoris)

Innervation

femoral nerve
