Infectious agent causing pharyngitis.
Epidemiology
- 1% of patients with pharyngitis
- affects teen agers & young adults
Clinical manifestations
- pharyngitis
- fever (80%)
- cervical lymphadenopathy (67%)
- scarlatiniform rash (50%)
- skin ulcers
Laboratory
gram positive cocci (no Loincs found)
