Introduction
Basophilic cells characterized by a large cytoplasmic vacuole that displaces the nucleus to the periphery of the cell giving the appearance of a signet ring.
Occurrence
- anterior lobe of the pituitary following castration
- mucin-containing carcinoma (metastatic)
