Epidemiology
2 cases reported in USA (Virginia) in 2002
- traveler with Malaria from endemic area flew into Dulles airport
- traveler bitten local Anopheles mosquitoes
- mosquitoes bite & transmit Plasmodium Vivax to teenagers who had never left country
- cases treated successfully with primaquine & chloroquine
