Introduction
A genus of mosquitoes, including vectors of malaria & filariasis.
Epidemiology
- Anopheles mosquitoes prefer persons with whole body odor of volatile carboxylic acids butyric acid, isobutryic acid, & isovaleric acid, skin microbe-generated methyl ketone acetoin
- Anopheles mosquitoes least prefer perseones with whole body odor depleted of carboxylic acids but enriched with eucalyptol[3]
