Introduction
Tradenames: Monistat, Lotrimin.
Indications
- oropharyngeal candidiasis
- treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis (Monistat)
- treatment of athlete's foot (Lotrimin AF powder, spray)
Dosage
- 2% cream/powder/spray BID
- vaginal candidiasis: 1 200 mg vaginal suppository QHS for 3 days
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- less common (1-10%)
- uncommon (< 1%)
- flushing of face & skin, drowsiness
Drug interactions
- rarely may significantly inhibit warfarin metabolism, increasing its anticoagulant effect
