Introduction
Tradename: Biltricide.
Indications
- trematode & cestode infections
- schistosomiasis
- cysticercosis
- liver flukes
- except Fasciola hepatica
Dosage
- shistosomiasis: 20 mg/kg PO every 6 hours for 3 doses
- flukes: 25 mg/kg PO every 8 hours for 1-2 days
- cysticercosis: 15-18 mg/kg PO every 8 hours for 14 days
- adjuntive treatment with glucocorticoids for neurocysticercosis
- tapeworms 10-20 mg/kg as single dose
- Hymenolepis nana: 25 mg/kg as single dose
Tabs: 600 mg
Adverse effects
- not common (1-10%)
- uncommon (< 1%)
