Introduction

Tradename: Peridex, Hibiclens.

Indications

* does not reduce nosocomial infection in critically ill ICU patients[4]

Dosage

  • dental rinse (Peridex)
    • swish 15 mL undiluted oral rinse around in mouth for 30 sec, then expectorate
    • do NOT swallow
    • use twice daily in the treatment of gingivitis
    • precede use by brushing & flossing
  • topical agent for use on skin
