angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AILD)

Classification

• working formulation:
  • diffuse, mixed small & large cell lymphoma
  • large cell immunoblastic lymphoma.
• Kiel classification: angioimmunoblastic (AILD)

Pathology

• obliteration of lymph node architecture
• proliferation of mature lymphocytes, plasma cells & immunoblasts
• PAS +/eosinophilic sludgy material
• vascular proliferation, small vessels, with endothelial proliferation
• immunophenotype:
  • T-cell associated antigens, usually CD4+

Genetics

• TCR genes rearranged in ~75%, IgH in~10%

Clinical manifestations

• lymphadenopathy
• extranodal disease
• skin manifestations
