Introduction
A short N-terminal conserved region of about 60 amino acids found in protein involved in the regulation of cytoskeletal rearrangements, vesicular transport & endocytosis. It is followed by a coiled-coil region.
Proteins containing an FCH domain include:
- protein kinases with an SH2 domain:
- Fps/fes proto-oncogene proteins
- Fes related protein (fer)
- adaptor proteins with a C-terminal SH3 domain:
- Schizosaccharomyces pombe CDC15 protein
- CD2 cytoplasmic domain binding protein
- mammalian Cdc42-interacting protein 4 (CIP4)
- ammalian PACSIN proteins
- RhoGAP proteins
