Function
- receptor to interleukin-8
- binding of IL-8 to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils
- response is mediated via a G-protein that activate a phosphatidylinositol-Ca+2 second messenger system
- binds to IL-8 with a high affinity & to MGSA (GRO) with low affinity
Structure
belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Compartment
