Introduction
A covalent bond involving the anomeric carbon (sp2 hydridized) of a carbohydrate forming an acetal or ketal rendering that carbohydrate moiety non reducing. Glycosidic linkages between C1 of one sugar & C4 or C3 of an adjacent sugar form the basic stucture of polysaccharides.
