Introduction

eisosa (twenty) + eidos (form) Physiologically active molecules derived from arachidonic acid (w-6); prostaglandins, leukotrienes & lipoxygenase products, & thromboxanes. Sometimes loosely used to include products of the cyclooxygenase & lipoxygenase cascades, including products of eicosapentaenoic acid (w-3) & docosahexaenoic acid (w-6)
