Function

• negatively regulates nitric oxide production by inducing NOS1 & NOS3 translocation to actin cytoskeleton & inhibiting their enzymatic activity
• interacts with NOS1 & NOS3
• phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR

Structure

• belongs to the NOSIP family
• U-box-like region is a truncated U-box domain (unknown whether it is functional or not)

• cytoplasm, nucleus
• translocates from nucleus to cytoplasm in G2 phase of cell cycle

Expression

• expressed in heart, brain & lung
• present in endothelial cells (at protein level)
