Function
- may play a role in targeting PRKCA to caveolae
- binds to PRKCA in the presence of phosphatidylserine
- up-regulated in asyncronously growing fibroblasts following serum deprivation but not following contact inhibition
- down-regulated during synchronous cell cycle re-entry
- phosphorylated on Ser
- binds phosphatidylserine (Ca+2-dependent)
- PS-binding is inhibited by phosphatidic acid & phosphatidyl- inositol
- does not bind phosphatidylcholine
Compartment
cytoplasm, colocalizes with CAV1 to caveolae
Expression
- expresed in heart, lung > brain, kidney, liver, pancreas, placenta, skeletal muscle
