Function
- acts as an adapter ERBB2 receptor in epithelia, restricting its presence to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells
- binds unphosphorylated Tyr-1248 of receptor ERBB2, stabilizing unphosphorylated state
- interacts with ERBB2, BPAG1 & ITGB4
- may play role in localization of ERBB2 to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells
- also interacts with ARVCF & delta catenin
- interacts (via C-terminus) with DST isoform 3 (via N-terminus)
Structure
- belongs to the LAP (LRR & PDZ) protein family
- contains 17 LRR repeats (leucine-rich repeats)
- contains 1 PDZ domain (DHR domain)
Compartment
- cell junction, hemidesmosome
- in transfected cells, either diffusely distributed over the cytoplasm or concentrated at the basolateral membrane
