- elevated in 50% of patients gastric cancer

Methods
Specimen
(specimen requirements)
- serum
- stable up to 24 hours at 2-8 degrees C
- for longer periods, store at -20 degrees C (avoid repetitive freeze-thaw cycles)
Procedure
- the test uses two antibodies
- CC49 purified against highly purified TAG-72
- B72-3 raised against a membrane fraction of a human breast cancer cell line

- antigen of mucin-type high molecular weight glycoprotein,
- tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72).
