Function
- Golgi structure
- protein transport from endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through Golgi to the cell surface
- interacts with GRASP55 and with GTP-bound form of RAB2, but not with other Golgi Rab proteins
- GRASP55 & BLZF1 form a RAB2 effector complex on medial Golgi
Compartment
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=2
Expression
- ubiquitous
- up-regulated by retinoids
Pathology
- found in cell lines derived from several hematopoietic pathologies: T-cell leukemia, pro-B cell, pre-B cell, myeloma, & plasmacytoma cell lines, but not in Burkitt lymphoma cells
