Function
- myozenins may serve as intracellular binding proteins involved in linking Z-disk proteins such as alpha-actinin, gamma-filamin, TCAP/telethonin, LDB3/ZASP & localizing calcineurin signaling to the sarcomere
- role in modulation of calcineurin signaling
- may play a role in myofibrillogenesis
- interacts with ACTN2, LDB3, FLNC, PPP3CA & TCAP
Structure
belongs to the myozenin family
Compartment
localized at the Z-line of skeletal muscle (putative)
Alternative splicing
named isoforms=3
Expression
- expressed specifically in skeletal muscle
- not detected in heart
