- cytoskeletal protein
- may act as an adapter that brings other proteins (like kinases) to the cytoskeleton
- interacts with alpha-actinins 1, 2 & 4

- contains 1 LIM Zn+2-binding domain
- contains 1 PDZ domain (DHR domain)
Compartment
Expression
- strongly expressed in the heart & skeletal muscle
- moderately expressed in the spleen, small intestine, colon, placenta, & lung
- a lower level expression is seen in liver, thymus, kidney, prostate & pancreas
- not found in the brain, testis, ovary, or peripheral blood leukocytes
